Jo’s next message seemed to indicate that the ‘hope you haven’t forgotten’ comment related to something specific. I had taken it as a general ‘hope you haven’t forgotten what we used to be’ or even maybe ‘hope you haven’t forgotten how we felt about each other’, but she followed it up with ‘So had you forgotten? Or is it something you don’t want to remember any more?’

She’s referring to one particular evening we spent together.

I was still confused how to respond since this seemed to be getting us even further into subjects that have seemed to be completely off limits for over a year now and if we’re going to have a conversation (if? WHEN) about how we feel, what we are, how we live with what we feel , then it needs to be face to face and not at a distance of several thousand miles and by e-mail. So I just said:

‘I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything at all. ;-) Just thought you didn’t want me airing my memories’

She also said that she’s got a week alone after her sister goes back to the UK as Dave is away on a trip to Vancouver. Not looking forward to being a single mother for the week, but maybe I’ll hear more.

Time I wasn’t here. Lynne’s much more cheerful the last couple of days and I’ve been ensuring that I don’t get home late. She said last night that she’d missed taking her anti-depressant on Saturday night and sadly I fear that it coincided (as a friend suggested) with a hormonal dip that caused the mood swing. I need to get home to look after her. Nice weekend everyone!
